Willowell Community Garden

"Gardening is civil and social, but it wants the vigor and freedom of the forest and the outlaw." -H.D. Thoreau Founded in 2002 by Walden Project alumnus Tasha Ball and other interested students, the Walden Community Garden has grown from a few raised beds to a half-acre plot that provides fresh, local produce to Walden Project students , local public schools including Vergennes Union High School and Ferrisburgh Central School, other non-profits including the Common Ground Center of Starksboro, and local food shelves such as the Helping Overcome Poverty's Effects (HOPE), the John Graham Shelter, and the Committee On Temporary Shelter (COTS) in Burlington.
