Visiting the Land

Willowell is located at the intersection of Stoney Meadow Lane and Bristol-Monkton Road in Monkton, Vermont.  For events, we typically gather right behind the barn. Walden visitors can follow the meadow path to the north of the barn.

We welcome visitors year-round!  To request a tour of the land, please email us.

Please park behind the Willowell barn, as not to obstruct Stoney Meadow Lane.  If the barn lot is full, park completely on the grass on the right side of the Lane. We are working to expand our parking capacity; in the meantime, please keep in mind that the driveway is shared and cars frequently use the driveway.

From Vergennes: (10 miles) Driving out of town on Monkton Road, cross Route 7 and continue 9.3 miles to the end of Monkton Road.  Turn right onto Bristol-Monkton Road and continue 0.6 miles.  You will see a silo and barn on your left; turn left just before the silo onto Stoney Meadow Lane.

From Bristol: (8 miles) Driving north out of town on North Street, go 2 miles, then follow the road as it curves to the right to continue onto Bristol-Monkton Road.  Continue 6.2 miles and you will see the barn and silo on your right.  Just after the silo, turn right onto Stoney Meadow Lane.

From Burlington: (20 miles) Driving east on Route 2/Williston Road, about half a mile after the exit for I-89, turn right onto Route 116.  Follow 116 into Hinesburg, about 11 miles.  As 116 curves to the left, bear right onto Silver Street and continue 5 miles until arriving at a stop sign in Monkton.  Continue straight onto Bristol-Monkton Road, and after 0.6 miles you will see the silo and barn on your left.  Turn left just before the silo onto Stoney Meadow Lane.
