Art, Pageantry, and Play!

OVERVIEW

Do you love making things? Do you love being out in fields, forests, and the fantastic natural world? Do you love stories? Then this is your camp.

For this week we will create our own pageant, inspired by folk tales and old magical stories. Here you will have a chance to use your own unique talents to make costumes, masks, props, and musical instruments. Come explore the natural world and act out your favorite stories while making new friends. On the last day we will host a grand celebration to show off what we have created to friends and family. Come, celebrate, make new friends, play!

Casey Burger:

Casey has been making things since she was a wee girl. Pottery and painting in her father's studio, jewelry and wild inventions in her own backyard. As an adult she has become passionate about learning the "practical and natural arts," including baskets and weaving. For three consecutive summers Casey has led camps with Willowell, which have been a marriage of her love of making things and love for children. These programs are inspired by the work that she has done at the Hawthorne Valley Waldorf EARTH School, through the New York State public school system, and out of a belief that children are incredibly capable.
