Into the Forest: two camps in one

Seedlings: ages 4-6 (waitlisted)

Saplings: ages 7-9

OVERVIEW

Step outdoors and into the magical forests of the Willowell Land. Through sunshine, rain, and wind, children will run and play in age-designated cohorts; building campfires and community in this week-long camp for all ages.

Children will embark in imaginative play, creative projects and games, and have opportunities to build relationships with other age groups throughout the week.

The three groups will set up a home base in three different outdoor classrooms with skilled and caring camp leaders. From there, they will spend the week venturing out and exploring the various ecosystems on the land: fields, forest and marshes, with time to come together and explore what it means to create a larger community of varying ages.

The goal of this camp is to foster respect for each other, recognizing the valued voices of our youngest community members, while letting older children share knowledge and experience. What does it look like when peers offer mentorship and role modeling, and how does that experience create confidence and self-worth for all involved?

Into the Forest Camp allows children to freely express themselves as individuals within the scope of their own age group, while also recognizing and practicing their meaningful roles as community members.
